The black felt tip pen, has been my constant companion since fairytales became real life. Fine liners have documented travels, moods, what has been seen and moments where words could not express feelings. It’s the simple lines of minimal absence, that evokes the viewer to delve deeper. Harking back to a simpler life, where prints were made on presses, by artisans who had learnt the trade through apprenticeships and hard labour. The simple black pen, allows the artist to quickly capture a moment and often times, leaves it without colour. Minimal line drawings are perfect for the abode that already a riot of colour in their surroundings, or is chasing the minimalistic feel of simplicity.
